Village of Islandia Honors Those Who Sacrificed Their Lives While Serving Our Country at Memorial Day Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Triangle

On May 25, the Village of Islandia will have its annual Memorial Day ceremony, starting at 10 a.m. The ceremony will take place at the Veterans Memorial Triangle, located at the corner of Old Nichols Road and Johnson Avenue.

Mayor Allan M. Dorman, a former Marine and a Vietnam War veteran, will be joined by village trustees, members of the Col. Francis S. Midura Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #12144 and local elected officials to recognize the local war veterans in attendance and to remember those who gave their lives for our country. Ceremonial wreaths will be placed at the site of the memorial to honor the fallen soldiers. Members of the Lakeland and Central Islip Fire Departments will also be in attendance.
